Go Nagai Holy Trinity GET!

PICTURED: THE BEST SURPRISE I'VE HAD IN AGES.

, Discotek announced the 1972 DEVILMAN/ TV series was joining their DVD line-up alongside the previously announced CUTIE HONEY and MAZINGER Z sets. These titles are easily the three most famous and influential pieces of the Nagaiverse, and I couldn't be happier that the trio are finally due for an as-of-yet pinned down US premier. None of these titles have even been fansubbed past the first few episodes - not last time I bothered to check, at any rate - and with Go Nagai's less than chipper attitude towards how American publishers treated his comics in the early 90s, I wasn't convinced we'd ever see them in English.

Anime has reentered my life officially

I decided to only watch top tier anime from now on since I don't really have the time to mess around with some sub par story telling or anime with a bad ending. I went on myanimelist.com and looked at the top 30 anime tv shows of all time and I realized I have seen over half of them but still plenty of new shows to experience. I choose to watch Great Teacher Onizuka which is a late 90s anime that contains a total of 43 episodes. Its about a former top tier gang member who wants to become a teacher and his main reason for it is to pick up hot young high school girls. Onizuka is a really funny, goofy guy who means well and he uses methods that many teachers would frown upon but they work better than any other method. He is a teacher who wants his students to learn and respect themselves and others but there are always people teachers/students who are trying to get him fired. I have watched 8 episodes and each one has actually made me LOL so hard. Its a lot of fun just to see how Onizuka approaches different situations and how it ends up working for him. From what I read the show keeps the humor going and is a must watch for someone who wants some comedy in their life.

I also want to mention a really bad anime that I watched earlier this year and that is Sword Art Online. Sword Art Online has such an amazing concept of being stuck in a MMO with 10,000 people and if you die in the game you die in real life and the only way you can leave the game is to win. The first 15 episodes are AWESOME but then o my the second half had to exist and everything went to shit. The ending makes no sense and they just throw everyone into another gaming world and its just a whole bunch of stupid crap that should not exist. It is a disgrace to anime honestly. It also has a creepy brother and sister complex and rape vibe at the end. The last fight in the game and the final fight in the real world MAKE NO SENSE AT ALL!HOW CAN A 16 YEAR OLD BOY OVERPOWER A GROWN MAN WHO IS STRIKING YOU DOWN WITH A KNIFE USING TWO HANDS!??!?!! He gets over powered by 1 hand and then chokes out the bad guy with the same fucking hand like wtf its not like his knife just stopped coming down. I'm so done with that shit, I am going to be livid if Attack on Titan pulls some dumb shit like this. Also none of the magic cards looked interesting to me today, maybe tomorrow I'll get more sliver love?!~

What a good day

I have to say I had a fucking awesome 4th of July. I played 10 games of Magic with my friend today and I reached a perfect level, I truly did ascend. I watched more Great Teacher Onizuka and there is this one episode where the math teacher is trying to get the cute female teacher and the math teacher is SO FUCKING CREEPY! His house has a telescope/camera where he stares the teacher in her house and he can hear all her conversations the fuck. His room is covered in pictures of her like why do people like this exist?! Does he jizz on these pictures or what how could you bring your mom over?! I fucking love anime and all the weird shit it has shown me.

Still today has been an intense magic day we have to look at every single last one of these new magic cards they showed today. The first one is Voracious Wurm for 1G its a 2/2 which enters the battlefield with +1/+1 counters for as much health you got back this turn. I actually like that card a lot! I run white/green so that would work perfectly in a life link type of deck and combine that with savage summoning. Next card is a 1 drop Black card called Tenacious Dead which is a 1/1 that can come back to the battlefield tapped if you pay 2 mana. Its like a worse version of grave crawler but I think its a solid zombie card. Barrage of the Expendables is a 1 drop red enchantment that lets you sacrifice a creature which does 1 damage to target player or creature. I wonder if you can sacrifice your opponents creatures? If you can that is a great card for red. Encroaching wastes is a land that adds 1 mana to your side of the field but if you pay 4 mana you can destroy target land and this card. It can be great but 4 does cost a lot imo. Blue got this card called Rewind which cast 2UU and its an instant that lets you untapped 4 lands and cancel target spell. O WOW I JUST REALIZED HOW FUCKING GOOD THAT IS!!!! I just figured out why the card is called that, I'm slow as shit. Briarpack alapha comes back but I really didn't think it was that good of a card. The other cards look so boring to me besides Verdant Haven which can make a land you control into any control land you want it to be which could work great on a sliver deck but I won't need it if I have that one sliver out. Anyways tomorrow I will sign up for the prerelease and then start studying up on someM14 combos.

Another lazy Saturday

I wish he was my teacher *sigh*

Another day of my beautiful lazy summer. I don't even know what day of the week it is to be honest without checking my phone. A bunch of my friends are gone for the weekend so I did what any normal 19 year old would do, I read manga and watched a massive amount of kpop music videos. The kpop videos are a lot different then what I usually do but my friend she just really wanted to show me all these vids and wow I have this new found respect for kpop. The music videos are so crazy I honestly thought I was tripping at one point haha. All the songs are really catchy and I have to say kpop singers are so sexy! I honestly need to go to Korea and get myself in the kpop industry so I meet these goddess. If I could be surrounded by these women I could die happy. Besides that I stopped watching Great Teacher Onizuka because I was reading how the manga is so much better and its a lot longer. My real reason to stop watching GTO is because the animation is really old and it sometimes hurts to watch haha I rather read and so I did and now I am passed where I was in anime. That is my day in a nut shell also no magic spoilers since it is the weekend that sucks, I hope they release the last 47 cards on Monday! I should really sign up for that prerelease tourney huh hahaha I am so lazy, maybe on Monday?

Why didn’t anyone force me to watch Hellsing Ultimate before?!

Another usual day in the life of being Anthony. I finished reading Great Teacher Onizuka and I am beyond sad that it had to end. It easily is one of my favorite manga of all time! The last 25 chapters are just so intense and when you reached the last page you get this feeling that this whole entire time you were one of Onizuka's students. I really wished that he was one of my teachers in high school but honestly reading this manga makes up for that, I learned a good amount of lessons from this journey. I'm also glad it ends and not even little thing is tied up because that is how life is not everything will be perfect or completed in a year you just have to leave it up to your imagination. Since I finished reading GTO I decided to watch another top 30 anime on myanimelist.com and I choose to watch Hellsing Ultimate. I never watched the original series and I read a review that said just to watch the latest version of it so I completed the first episode and this shit is radical. I always thought vampires were lame and then I watched this, its like trinity blood but WAY better. It is 10 episodes long but each one is 40 minutes plus so more like 20 episodes if you think about it like that. I'll be watching all of Hellsing Ultimate until EVO this weekend! I am REALLY terrible at fighting games but man fighting games are easily the most fun to watch. Street Fighter is easily the greatest game to watch at a pro level with all the whole wide competition. I am excited to watch all the other games like Persona 4 Arena, Mortal Kombat, Injustice and UMVC3. I wish I didn't have to miss some of Saturday's events for my Magic 14 sealed event though o well what if I become a champ?! haha O yea I watched the latest GTAV trailer today and I am super stoke for it! All the features like character stats and a weapon wheel are really going to make the game play enjoyable unlike GTAIV. I know its going to be an amazing game but I don't believe it will beat out The Last of Us for game of the year of game of generation. Anyways back to Hellsing!
