ANIME AND MANGA THIS WEEK: 27/10/2013

ANIME:

---KUROSHITSUJI- Black Butler, it's been a few years since i learnt of the existence of this manga, and anime; though it is only now that i have taken it upon myself to actually check it out. Well, maybe that isn't entirely true, i gave the manga a go a few years back and i was sorely disappointed, dropping it five chapters in. The anime is another issue, the story proving to be more intriguing than i credited it the first time.

The anime follows the story of young Ciel Phantomhive, earl of somewhere, who, following the tragic death of his parents and the circumstances that followed entered a contract with a demon named Sebastian, now butler to the phantomhive house.

Musical Monday 9

Well I have been procrastinating my homework and studying for midterms as much as possible. I should procrastinate more by writing things on blogs rather than watching streams of hearthstone and Dota 2 all day like I did yesterday. Either way I had to remember to get this post done, because I forgot last week. I will try to get more non Musical Monday's up soon, but I have not had time to really watch that much anime.

Today's musical Monday is going to showcase the opening of Great Teacher Onizuka (GTO). I really need to finish this anime. I got half way through but stopped because I had other priorities in anime watching, but GTO is hilarious. You will see why just from watching the opening.

What Makes a "Good" Character?

The last couple of weeks have been pretty rough for me. So, this week, while looking up something I can't even remember now, I got sidetracked (pfft, like that never happens) on an old TV show that holds some particularly good memories for me. Because I had been having such a bad time of it, remembering this show was a bit like a happy drug. I broke down and bought the DVD. I waited anxiously all week for it, and it finally arrived on Thursday. I finished watching the entire series by Friday night. But some interesting thoughts occurred to me while I was enjoying this old favourite.

Random Thought (October 04, 2013 at 09:38PM)

Random Thought 483

I just finished watching the timeless classic Great Teacher Onizuka. One thing I realized after watching this anime is that Onizuka isn't really great after all but the Greatest Teacher ever! To be honest the first 3 episodes of GTO didn't really interest me that much. I thought it was just some gangster teacher who tries to do some random irrelevant things as a teacher. But after watching episodes 4 until the very end, I am so glad that I have watched it. I'm really proud of myself that I am one of those who have already watched this one of a kind masterpiece anime. Great Teacher Onizuka in the end teaches you the ultimate lessons in life. I know that I might be over exaggerating things, but I just have to say it just so I can clearly state out my entire point of the show. So without a doubt this anime really deserves my 10 out of 10. It's my 2nd 10/10 this year and it's not quite long ago since I last rated an anime 10/10 which was Blood+ in the last couple of weeks.
